Computer vision program
b.
–
DeepDream is a computer vision program created by Google engineer Alexander Mordvintsev in 2015. It utilizes a convolutional neural network to scan through images and amplify the patterns it recognizes, resulting in intricate, surreal, and often psychedelic visuals.
Originally intended to help researchers and scientists understand how neural networks work, DeepDream quickly gained popularity as a tool for creating art—all thanks to its ability to generate "dream-like" images that often feature recursive patterns, animal shapes, and psychedelic elements.
It's known for transforming ordinary images into otherworldly landscapes filled with dog faces, bird feathers, and spiraling patterns, among other things. This has led to its use in various artistic endeavors, including music videos and digital art.
