Bruno Barbey

Bruno Barbey was a French-Moroccan photographer born on February 13, 1941, in Morocco. He was best known for his extensive work as a photojournalist, capturing significant historical events, cultures, and conflicts around the world. Barbey was a member of the prestigious Magnum Photos agency since 1964 and served as its vice president and president in the late '70s. His work has been featured in leading international publications, including National Geographic, Time, and Newsweek.

Barbey's photography is celebrated for its poetic sensibility, often capturing the human condition against the backdrop of social and political landscapes. His most notable projects include coverage of the May 1968 protests in Paris, the Nigerian Civil War, and various other geopolitical events.
