Bill Gekas is an Australian fine art photographer known for his meticulously staged portraits that often pay homage to classical paintings. Born and based in Melbourne, Gekas has developed a unique style that combines elements of portraiture, storytelling, and classical art. He gained international acclaim for his series of portraits featuring his daughter as the subject, styled and posed to resemble figures from iconic paintings by artists like Vermeer and Rembrandt.
Gekas's work has been exhibited in galleries and art festivals around the world, and he has received numerous awards for his photography, including accolades from the International Photography Awards and the Prix de la Photographie, Paris (Px3).
