Arthur Elgort (born 1940) is an American fashion photographer renowned for his innovative and casual approach to fashion photography. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Elgort studied painting at Hunter College before transitioning to photography. He gained prominence in the 1970s, breaking away from the rigid, studio-bound fashion photography of the time by taking models out of the studio and into more natural, real-world settings. His work has been featured in leading fashion publications like Vogue, Glamour, and Rolling Stone, and he has collaborated with top fashion houses and designers.
